“Alabaster represents a straightforward and necessary shift to mindfulness.  It provides a oasis of calmness, spirituality and ‘less is more’ visual relief.  Alabaster is neither stark nor overly warm, but rather an understated and alluring white.”  At first I was like this is not a color it blah.  But, I’m not surprised either,  I’ve been seeing the trend since my inspiration trip to Maison Objet Market in Paris a few years back.  Colors have soften and greyed.  After all white is the best selling window treatment, towel and sheet color.  I think we are wanting visual relief, we’re inundated with noise from our tech lives

Benjamin Moore also chose a blah color Simply White OC-117.  White is transcendent, powerful and polarizing – it is either taken for granted or obsessed over” Benjamin Moore Creative Director Ellen O’Neill announced.  White is a safe color if you are not sure how to use color. It can be a blank canvas for you to add color with your accessories.  We’ll see how this color plays out, will it be a focal color or just the color of the trim?

I will be watching with excitement and may have to pull out my paint brushes and try it on my walls. I would like to know your thoughts on their color of the year choices.
